How and when did you get into producing? Can you briefly walk us through your story?

I started making music as a bass player in third grade, and eventually picked up guitar as well. My gateway to producing was actually a guitar pedal called the Boss RC-1 loop station. It’s meant for recording guitar loops live, but I would hook up a entry level Yamaha keyboard and create entire loops on that thing with the stock instruments and drums. I would bring that pedal to local open mics and make beats live. The loop pedal was really only capable of making a simple instrumental, so I branched out into different DAWs when I was ready to make more complicated music. In college I joined music production club, where I refined my skills and learned new techniques.

Tell us about your music. How is it unique to you?

I think my approach to creating creating hip hop is pretty unique because of my background in stringed instruments and recording process. I use a blend of live instrumentation and electronic elements, which makes my tracks distinct.

Everyone has their preferred DAW. Which one is yours and why?

My favorite DAW is Ableton, but I love stand alone DAWs like the SP 404 as well. I don’t believe any DAW is better than another, it all comes down to familiarity, and I’m most comfortable in Ableton.
